Step 1: Protect your work surface
We’ll be using an iron, so it’s important to protect your table from heat. Place a silicone mat, tablecloth, or other heat-safe surface protector underneath your workspace. You can also use an ironing board if you prefer.

Step 2: Apply the gel medium
Lay down a piece of parchment or wax paper to protect your surface. Using your foam brush, apply a generous, even coat of Fusion’s Decoupage and Transfer Gel to each of the five 4” × 6” pieces of white cardstock. Make sure every area is covered — no dry spots, clumps, or globs.
Allow all five pieces to dry completely, or speed up the process with a heat tool or hair dryer. Once dry, dispose of the parchment paper you used underneath.

Step 3: Preheat your iron
Plug in your iron and let it heat up. Any temperature setting will work — just make sure the steam function is turned off.

Step 4: Prepare your napkins
Select the five napkins you’d like to use. Remove the two white backing layers from each napkin so only the printed top layer remains. A small piece of tape on one corner can help lift the layers apart.

Step 5: Position your napkin
Place one of the dry, gel-coated cardstock pieces on your surface. Position a napkin on top and adjust it until you’re happy with the placement of the image. Cover the napkin completely with a clean sheet of parchment paper.

Step 6: Adhere the napkin
Once your iron is hot, gently run it over the parchment-covered napkin for about 10 seconds. The heat will reactivate the gel, bonding the napkin to the cardstock. Repeat this process with the remaining four napkins.

Step 7: Trim the edges
Using sharp scissors, carefully trim away any napkin that extends beyond the edges of the cardstock.

Step 8: Choose your background cardstock
Pick the five coloured cardstock pieces you’d like to pair with your napkin designs. Choose colours that complement or contrast nicely with your images — it’s entirely up to you!

Step 9: Layer your cards
Using your tape runner, apply adhesive to the back of each white napkin-covered cardstock piece. Run the tape as close to the edges as possible, from corner to corner, and add one strip diagonally through the centre. Press each piece onto its chosen coloured cardstock.

Step 10: Assemble the cards
Apply tape to the back of each coloured cardstock panel, then attach it to your folded card base. Press firmly to ensure good adhesion. You’re done!

Step 11: Add embellishments
Finish your cards with your choice of embellishments — gems, ribbons, stamped sentiments, or anything else that adds your personal touch.
